Animal Massage Provides Many Benefits
As it can for humans, massage can alleviate an animal's pain, hasten recovery from surgery and injuries, improve arthritis symptoms, and promote overall well-being.
When done correctly, massage on animals can aid in relaxation and flexibility, relieve muscle pain and stiffness, and improve the body's circulation and digestive systems, similar to the benefits in people, therapists say.
Many human-trained massage therapists are turning their practices to focus on animals and they are finding a growing clientele. Before taking Fido or Fluffy in for a massage, however, be sure to consult with your veterinarian and check out the credentials of the massage therapist beforehand.
